4K Video Upscaler

Privacy Policy

Your videos never leave your device. What this browser-based upscaler does and does not process.

최근 업데이트: 2026-09-17

The short version

4K Video Upscaler runs entirely in your browser. The video you choose is decoded, upscaled on your own graphics hardware (WebGPU) and re-encoded on your device. No video, frame, thumbnail or result is ever uploaded to us or to anyone else. There are no accounts, no sign-up and no payments, so we hold no profile about you.

What stays on your device

  • Your videos and results. The file you pick is read locally through a temporary browser URL. Upscaled output is written to your browser's private site storage only so that you can download it; it is removed when you close or replace the video, and leftovers are cleaned up automatically. You can also clear it at any time from your browser's site-data settings.
  • Device details used for settings. The page reads your screen size, whether the browser reports a phone, and what your graphics adapter supports, in order to pick sensible defaults and time estimates. These values are used in the page only and are not transmitted.

What is processed when you load the page

Like any website, delivering the page involves some data:

  1. Server logs. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) receives your IP address, browser user agent, the requested URL and the time of the request in order to serve the page, defend against abuse and produce aggregate traffic statistics. The country derived from your IP address is used once, on your first visit, to open the Chinese version for visitors from mainland China; every other visitor starts on the English version and picks a language from the menu.
  2. Language cookie. A single functional cookie, PARAGLIDE_LOCALE, remembers the language you chose for up to one year. It contains only a two-letter language code such as en, zh or de.
  3. Analytics and ads (only if enabled). We may enable privacy-friendly or standard web analytics (Plausible or Google Analytics) to measure aggregate usage such as page views, device type and country, together with anonymous usage events — which settings were chosen, whether a job finished, how long a frame took — and Cloudflare Web Analytics, which measures page speed in your browser without cookies. We may also show advertising through Google AdSense. When these are enabled their scripts load from the respective provider and are governed by that provider's privacy policy; Google may set cookies for ad delivery. Video content — the file, its name and its frames — is never part of any analytics or advertising data.

We do not sell personal data and we do not build profiles of visitors.

Cloud-access requests

The guide page lets you ask for the cloud version by email. When you send that request — from your own mail app, from Gmail or Outlook on the web, by copying the text, or from the page itself where the site offers that — we receive your email address and what you typed (what you tried, your footage, optionally your device). It is kept in our mailbox, used only to contact you about cloud access, and shared with no one. Write to the same address to have it deleted. How the cloud version itself handles footage is described before anyone sends any.

Data sharing

We share nothing about your videos because we never receive them. Request logs are processed by Cloudflare as our infrastructure provider; analytics or advertising data, when those features are enabled, is processed by the named provider. We may disclose log data if required by law.

Security

Processing on your own device removes the largest risk: there is no server holding your files. The site is served over HTTPS, and the application code only contacts the hosting provider and, when enabled, the analytics and advertising providers listed above.

Children

The service is a general-purpose tool and is not directed at children under 13. Apart from the cloud-access request described above, we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.

Your rights

Because we keep no account or content data, there is normally nothing to access, correct or delete on our side. To stop analytics or advertising cookies, use your browser's cookie controls or a content blocker; to remove upscaled outputs, clear this site's storage in your browser.

Changes

We will update the date at the top of this page whenever this policy changes. Material changes will be visible on this page before they take effect.
