Acceptance

By using 4K Video Upscaler (the "Service") you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. There is no account to create; using the page is the agreement.

What the Service is

The Service is a free web page that upscales a video you choose to 1080p, 2K or 4K. All processing happens in your browser on your own hardware; nothing is uploaded and we operate no processing servers. The Service needs a modern browser with WebGPU support and enough graphics memory for your clip. Where that is missing the page tells you so and the upscaling controls stay disabled.

We may change, pause or discontinue the Service, or change its limits (such as the maximum file size or clip length), at any time without notice.

Free of charge

The Service is free to use. We do not sell subscriptions or credits and there is nothing to pay for. We may show advertising on the page.

Your content

  • You keep every right to the videos you process and to the results. We never receive them and claim no rights over them.
  • You confirm that you have the right to use each video you choose and that processing it does not infringe anyone's rights or break any law that applies to you.
  • Because processing happens on your device, you alone are responsible for the content you process and for how you use the output.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • attack, overload, probe or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the site or its hosting;
  • scrape, mirror or embed the site in a way that misrepresents it as your own;
  • remove or alter notices, or use the site's name, logo or design to suggest an affiliation that does not exist;
  • use the Service in violation of applicable law.

Intellectual property

The Service's design, code, text and trademarks belong to us or our licensors. The upscaling engine includes open-source components, whose licences continue to apply to them.

No warranty

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. Output quality depends on your source material, your hardware and your browser, and results may differ from what you expect. Running a neural network on your graphics hardware uses significant power; on laptops and phones this can raise temperatures and drain the battery. You use the Service at your own risk.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, for loss of data, or for any damage to your device, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service. Our total liability for any claim related to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for it, which is zero.

Changes to these terms

We may revise these terms by updating this page and the date at the top. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the revised terms.
